Happy Anniversary

This is a card I made for a friend and her husband for their 33rd wedding anniversary. The card is cream colored cardstock, kraft and black. The small flowers are from Hero Arts and set in the middle are pearls from Hero Arts. The Love stamp escapes me at the moment, but when I find it I'll change the posting. The rest of the card is made of Spellbinders pieces. I used Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Circles, Standard Circles,
Shapeabilites Pendants in Spades and Borderabilities Fleur De Lis.

Menard Home Museum Reopening/Lafayette's Sword

On Sunday, September 27th, 2009 the museum at the Pierre Menard State Historic Site will reopen after many years of being closed. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10am which will then allow the visitors to tour the new museum exhibits, but there’s MORE! In addition to the reopening we will have a very special artifact on display for the day. The Kaskaskia Masonic Lodge #86 from Red Bud has graciously agreed to lend us the General Marquis de Lafayette’s Sword for one day, and one day only, to be exhibited in a display showcasing Pierre Menard’s association with the Kaskaskia Masonic Lodge. This is the sword Lafayette used during the Revolutionary War while he fought with George Washington to help win the independence of the colonies and form the United States of America. Lafayette gave the sword to the Kaskaskia Masonic Lodge while he was on his tour of America in 1824. This sword is rarely displayed outside the Lodge and we are very honored that the Kaskaskia Lodge has agreed to display the sword in the museum for the day. The sword will be on display from 10am on Sunday, September 27th, 2009 until 4pm. After that it will be returned to the Masonic Lodge. Please mark your calendars and plan to come out to see this very rare piece of early American history and view the new museum exhibits.

Spit Happens

A soroity sister is expecting a baby in August and this is the
card that I made for her baby shower. The cap and short set are from Magenta. I cut the two pieces out and backed them with mounting tape. The antique lace border and the pink butterflies are punches by Martha Stewart. The ovals are embossed using a set from Spellbinders and the designed is finished off with some timy pearls from Hero Arts and a piece of sheer ribbon.

Mix and Match Card

This is a card I made for a challenge on Midwest Stamper's Yahoo Group. It uses the "Mix & Match" technique. This is a technique where you use the background paper for part of the image as well. Here I used it for the hat.

The stamped image is by B Line Designs, LLC #LF119E. I also used a Brilliance reinker of Moonlight White to fill in the pearls and give them dimension. The little rose is one I picked up at Wal-mart back in the ribbon department.

Overall the card is a 5x7.

Wedding Card

This is a card I made for a sorority sister's wedding next weekend.
I used black, metallic silver, matt white and charcoal gray card stock. The B is embossed in black and is from a set by Anna Griffin, the black brads are actually white. I didn't have any black, so I used a magic marker and colored them.
The black CS is stamped Brilliance, Moonlight White and the white CS is stamped in Memories Black with a Magenta floral background stamp. Both of the ovals are Nestibilites. The silver CS is just a sliver placed in between the two layers and the ends cut off to even up the card.
